The “Zoo Alternative”
Lions, tigers, and … leopards oh my! If you
are an animal lover, Big Cat Rescue is a place you should definitely plan to
spend an afternoon visiting. This 501c organization has worked very hard over
the years to rescue and care for all types of “big cats” and has made a
permanent home for them in Tampa, Florida. For a minimal donation of $25.00 per
person you can visit the sanctuary for a day tour. A tour guide will walk with
you through the sanctuary and provide facts about the animals you see along the
way. For those who are less capable than most, golf carts are available at your
request. During your walk you will have a chance to see lions, black leopards
(not to be confused with the nonexistent black panther...ask your tour guide!),
and you may even catch a glimpse of a lion tiger mix, commonly referred to as a
liger. Other cats you may see include a lynx, a cougar, and baby bobcat.

Most of us know that adopting an environmentally conscious or “green” approach to life can benefit the planet and its future generations. But did you know that greening your home can also benefit your bottom line in terms of energy savings and tax credits?
